Winchester Track & Field competed against Lexington, the most competitive team in the league. Both the girls’ and boys’ teams battled hard against a formidable opponent. Unfortunately, the girls' team fell to Lexington by a score of 78–22, while the boys’ team lost a closely fought meet, 60–40.

Despite the challenging competition, several athletes achieved impressive and noteworthy qualifying performances. Julia Ramsey delivered an outstanding race in the 1000m, running 3:08.77 and qualifying for the MSTCA Coaches Invitational, the Middlesex League Varsity Championship, and the Massachusetts Division 2 Meet. The girls’ 4x400 relay team, consisting of senior Sam Gal, and juniors Bridget Higgins, Chloe Walker, and Julia Ramsey, also qualified for the MSTCA Coaches Invitational with a time of 4:19.27. Notably, this qualifying effort came in Bridget Higgins' first race back from injury and Chloe Walker's second race back, demonstrating the team's resilience and preparation.

In her first-ever 600m, freshman Solana Murphy opened with an impressive time of 1:44.57, earning spots in both the Freshman & Sophomore Meet and the Middlesex League Varsity Championship. Jake Killian qualified for the Freshman & Sophomore Meet in the 300m with a time of 38.28. Addel Halaseh executed a well-paced and highly strategic race, which qualified for the Freshman & Sophomore Meet with a time of 1:32.51.
In the high jump, Liam Morin cleared 5 feet 10 inches, qualifying for the Freshman & Sophomore Meet, the Middlesex League Varsity Championship, and the Massachusetts Division 2 Meet.

Our next competition is a Varsity Dual Meet and JV Dual Meet on Tuesday, January 6, from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Boston University.
