Season Opener Sets the Tone for Winchester Track
Author: Alex Machemer WHS Class of '26 Winchester opened its outdoor track season on Thursday, April 10th with a home meet against Reading High School, where both teams competed hard despite tough final scores. The girls’ team fell 82-54, while the boys’ team was defeated 101-35. WHS Track Athletes Qualify for States in Hard-Fought Meet vs. Reading
On Thursday, April 17th, the Winchester boys and girls put up a good fight against Reading, both losing 80-56. Standout performances came from JJ Fleming (100 meter), Ella McGowan (100 meter), Tobin Janowsky (200 meter), Nick Walker (800 meter), Owen Berstein (1 mile), Riley Newman (1 mile), Bridget Higgins (2 mile), and Jerome Montgomery (Discus and Shotput) who all qualified for Division II States in their respective events.
