WHS Track Athletes Qualify for States in Hard-Fought Meet vs. Reading

On Thursday, April 17th, the Winchester boys and girls put up a good fight against Reading, both losing 80-56. Standout performances came from JJ Fleming (100 meter), Ella McGowan (100 meter), Tobin Janowsky (200 meter), Nick Walker (800 meter), Owen Berstein (1 mile), Riley Newman (1 mile), Bridget Higgins (2 mile), and Jerome Montgomery (Discus and Shotput) who all qualified for Division II States in their respective events.

Meanwhile, for the boys, Junior Jasper Carswell (110 meter hurdles and long jump), Senior Nick Walker (800 meter and 2 mile), and Senior Daniel Killian (100 meter and 400 meter) continue to dominate in their events, placing 1st in all of their events.

For the girls, Sophomores Julia Ramsey (1st), Riley Newman (2nd) and Chloe Walker (3rd) swept Reading in the 800 meter.
Winchesters boys and girls have high hopes for their next matchup against Arlington on Thursday, May 1st.
