The Red and Black girls swim and dive team continued their strong season with a dominant performance yesterday, defeating Stoneham-Melrose and winning every single event — all 12 of them. The win pushes Winchester’s record to 5–2, marking one of their most complete meets of the year.

It was a night full of highlights and milestone moments. The 400 freestyle relay team of Olivia Warner, Molly Dullaghan, Makenna Salvietti, and Captain Anamaria Andronesi punched their ticket to the state championship, showing off impressive speed and chemistry in the pool.

Sophomore Kaylee Guo also made a major splash, hitting her state qualifying time in the 200 Individual Medley, a huge accomplishment in one of the meet’s toughest races.

Beyond the individual times, the meet was a full-team effort. Every swimmer played a role — from dominating relays to picking up key points in the shorter events — as the Red and Black built momentum from start to finish. The energy was high on deck, with teammates cheering each other on through every heat.

“I’m so proud of all the work the team put in this season,” said Captain Talia Ho. “Everyone puts their all in—from cheering loudly to swimming fast.”

The team now looks ahead to their final home meet of the season against Lexington on Tuesday, October 14th, which will also serve as Senior Night at the Woburn Boys and Girls Club. The meet will be both a celebration of the seniors’ dedication and an opportunity for the Red and Black to close out their home schedule on a high note before postseason competition begins.

With growing confidence, state qualifiers, and a strong team bond, the Red and Black are finishing their season with serious momentum — and they’re not done yet.
