The Winchester varsity girls’ volleyball team kicked off its season in dominant fashion, sweeping Wilmington 3–0 in its opener. The victory set the tone for a strong start, with Winchester following up by defeating Arlington in their next match.

Sophomore standout Hazel Lovins led the offense with several powerful kills and a handful of service aces, while Johanna Melhorn also shined as one of the team’s most reliable hitters.
With momentum on their side, Winchester looks to continue their winning streak against Stoneham in their next matchup. Currently ranked fourth in the state, the team has its sights set on climbing even higher as the season progresses.
