The Winchester High School boys’ varsity lacrosse team delivered a gutsy, high-energy performance in a nail-biting playoff matchup against Westford Academy, ultimately falling 13–11 in a hard-fought battle. Despite a spirited fourth-quarter comeback, the Sachems came up just short as time ran out on their season.

Midfielder Gianni DiPrimeo was a force throughout the game, dominating the face-off circle to give Winchester key possessions and scoring two goals to ignite a second-half rally. His grit and control at midfield were critical in keeping the Sachems within striking distance. Ted Budreski also stepped up with strong offensive play and sharp passing, consistently challenging Westford’s defense and helping generate scoring chances.

While the scoreboard didn’t reflect a win, the team’s resilience, cohesion, and determination were undeniable. The narrow loss underscores how far the squad has come this season and how much promise lies ahead.

Though their playoff run ends here, this team has much to be proud of. Congratulations to the players and coaches on a memorable season — Winchester fans are already looking forward to what next year brings.
