The Winchester boys and girls varsity alpine ski teams are carving out impressive seasons in the Mass Bay West Omega League, combining strong team performances with standout

individual racers.

On the boys’ side, Winchester currently sits fourth out of eight teams in the league standings. Leading the charge is junior Marcus Brady, who has surged to the very top of the individual rankings—first overall out of 87 athletes across the league. His consistency and speed have made him one of the most formidable competitors on the slopes this winter and a key factor in Winchester’s success.

The girls team has been equally impressive, holding second place out of eight teams and

remaining undefeated in league competition. Winchester boasts three skiers inside the top ten individual rankings among 84 racers: junior Maddie Miller ranks third, senior Maddie Baron sits seventh, and junior Marion Donovan is close behind in eighth. Their depth and reliability across races have helped propel the team to the top tier of the standings.

Much of Winchester’s momentum can be credited to increased preparation time and expanded coaching support this season. Senior captain Ashton Marnik highlighted the impact of the changes, saying, “Alpine has had the opportunity to practice on snow two days a week since as long as I have been on the team, maybe even ever. The whole team has made great use of two nights on snow and benefited from the addition of another volunteer coach, Coach Winn. The girls team in particular has great promise and we are all excited to see what the season holds!”

With strong league positioning, elite individual performances, and growing confidence across both squads, Winchester’s alpine programs appear poised for an exciting stretch run as the season continues.
